In 2001, Elease Womack received a vision regarding the Ark of the Covenant, which was inspired by the Unleavened Bread Café that has served the Mapleton and Fall Creek areas for over 26 years. The Covenant Safe Haven House is a comprehensive program designed to address the critical needs of women at various stages of recovery. It aims to help them overcome challenges related to substance abuse, domestic violence, involvement in the justice system, and the loss of their children through the Department of Child Services (DCS) by facilitating reunification.

Our Vision

We envision a supportive community where women receive the resources and assistance they need to overcome the challenges that hinder their pursuit of a better quality of life. Our goal is to help them find purpose within themselves and their families.

At the Ark of the Covenant, our mission is to empower women transitioning from incarceration and struggling with substance abuse. We aim to provide them with the opportunity to forge a new path, break the cycle of adversity, and embark on a journey of healing.
